5 Fun Summer Things to do in Destin

Unlike South Florida, summer is in-season in the state’s panhandle. The area features some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the world and offers world-class shopping, dining and golf resorts, along with plenty of fun activities for the kids. If you want to arrive in style consider a limo service in Destin FL, choose 645Limo. 645Limo has everything from a fleet of luxury vehicles to a beach bus that can serve as your designated driver. The beach bus surveys the length of Destin, giving you access to all this resort beach town has to offer. 645Limo is a great choice for a Destin limo service with its professional chauffeurs.

While in Destin, enjoy these five fun things to do in the summertime.

HarborWalk Village HarborWalk Village is the home of the Destin fishing fleet, said to be the largest such fleet in the country. Maybe you would rather be served your meal instead of catching it. If so, there are a number of quality seafood restaurants to choose from, as well as other dining options. You can also rent a paddle board, kayak or jet ski. You can go parasailing or just chill on the beach. Once the sun goes down, there are plenty of places at HarborWalk to entertain you with a number of live music options. Nearby is the Destin Boardwalk, a city-run walkway along the harbor opened in 2012. The boardwalk offers some stunning views as well as access to the many activities along the harbor.

Destin Commons At the other end of Destin sits Destin Commons, an outdoor shopping mall with half a million square feet of shopping, dining and entertainment options. The center’s open design offers up a chance to stroll around and enjoy the summer sun. If the heat gets to be too much, there are plenty of indoor options here, and not just for shopping. Plenty of summer fun is to be had at Destin Commons, including Smoke on the Coast, a BBQ and fireworks festival scheduled around Independence Day.

Crab Island Crab Island is not actually an island, although it once was. The shifting sands of the region has turned Crab Island into a large sand bar in Choctawhatchee Bay. You will need a boat to get here but there are plenty of boat rental options here. Crab Island has a reputation for its party scene for young adults, but there are family-friendly activities, as well, including a unique floating water park. With its crystal clear and shallow water, Crab Island offers a great way to spend the day.

Golf It wouldn’t be the Sunshine State without golf, and Destin fits right in as a golf destination. With spectacular scenery and a variety of courses, Destin has something to offer for every golfer of any skill level. From Sandestin resort to Indian Bayou, golf courses litter Choctawhatchee Bay.

Henderson Beach State Park If you seek something a little more sedate, a stroll along the beach at Henderson Beach State Park is in order. Although the park is a protected area, you can still camp beachside with 60 full service campsites.
